The idea was a Japanese denim straight-leg jean designed to be as wearable and as un self-conscious as possible.
Our Japanese 'dad' jeans. The idea was to create an easy ('raku' in Japanese) daily driver that wouldn't require too much thought or self consciousness.
This is an iteration of the FNT 002 Otou-san Jeans with minor stylistic changes. We have opted against 'whiskering' for a more naturalistic mid-wash fade pattern.
Styling
This is a straight leg, comfortable cut. If between sizes, recommended you size up.
Wear with a plain white t-shirt and a workwear jacket.
This is the one-wash version (FNT 102), which is darker. You may prefer the mid-wash FNT 103, where we have washed the jeans to the middle of the fading spectrum for comfort and colour. We have provided 31.5/33.5 inch inseam length for optional cuffing or taller customers. Like most jeans, they can be easily hemmed.
Please take a garment that fits you (laid flat) and compare it to the provided size chart. This garment has been pre-washed for softness and to minimise shrinkage.
For reference I am 6ft tall, 89kg and wear a size 34.
We chose a 13.25oz Japanese denim from Kaihara Mills in Japan, which would be suitable for four seasons in most climates. It's then cut/sewn with our factory partners in Shenzhen.
The indigo yarn has been dipped 20 times in indigo, twice the average for a deeper colour. They will develop more shades of blue as they fade.
